Since 1930, Foodbank in Victoria has been helping individuals and families struggling with hunger and food insecurity.

As the oldest and largest provider of food relief in Australia we work with manufacturers, farmers and retailers to source and rescue food to distribute to our network of hundreds of charity partners. These partners are dotted around the state and range from large organisations such as The Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul to smaller community-run centres.

With food from Foodbank, our charity partners are able to run programs that support tens of thousands of vulnerable Victorians each week.

Foodbank is also the largest provider of School Breakfast Clubs anywhere in Australia, and works with the Victorian Government to ensure that primary school children don’t start the day on an empty stomach.

In times of disaster such as bushfire or flood, Foodbank is the lead provider of emergency food.

Food is an important pillar of people’s lives and access to food is something many take for granted. For someone unable to afford food for themselves or their family, it’s easy to fall into despair. Providing relief in the form of food has the ability to help turn things around and change lives.
